The couple were looking for a design that was different from the norm, which would also included an element of tradition and romance. Having known the couple for a number of years we decided to create a bespoke invitation which reflected their fun filled personalities. Featuring cheeky headlines and support illustrations throughout, the recipient was informed of weekends format and activities in humorous, laid back way. We werechallenged by the company owners to originate a brand name and identity that would be a reflection of their traditional home made pies, whilst also appearing modern and stylish. We felt that The Pie Society would be a great name for the brand and would help to make their customers feel part of a unique club. The identity was designed to reflect a traditional club crest, whilst the styling of supporting marketing materials was contemporary, using bright bold colours and detailed food photography. To complement the seasonal pies on offer we had the idea of making the restaurant menu from a wooden black board, allowing any special offers to be easily communicated to the customer. The menu pages were individual leaves, which could also be easily updated as seasonal ingredients changed. Roosta were also asked by the owners to think of marketing ideas that would help the restaurant to build a loyal fan base. Having had a passion for t-shirts and t-shirt design for a number of years Luke decided that he wanted to create his own line of shirts. He initially created the crossbones identity made from a tea cup and spoons, which perfectly captured the spirit of the brand that he was trying to create – fun, edgy and a reflection of British culture and history, the supporting strapline 'Trouble’s Brewing' reinforced the edgy look and feel of the brand. All of the t-shirts designs use clean vector illustrations based around a fun, slightly edgy core concept. To help build a loyal fan base and as a thank you to customers Trix Teas include a free gift with all purchases such as badges and stickers. Following a company expansion, Jam were seeking a new sales device to send to both potential and existing clients. The final solution needed to be easily updatable to accommodate the agencies ever evolving services, whilst also being eye catching and fun – helping to distinguish Jam in an increasingly crowded market. Picking up on Jams established bowler hat identity, the brochure used a velvet slip case and insert to mimic the texture and feel of a traditional bowler hat. Each mail–out could become personalised bythe sender by simply slipping a business card under the silk trim. The brochure insert pages used iconic bowler hat illustrations accompanied by playful text to highlight Jams numerous services. A simple graphic logo was created utilising the‘r’ character from the owner’s name. A supporting organically shaped typeface was used across the company stationery, which was given an extra landscaping twist by resembling a planting information tag. The company were looking to create a brand name and develop marketing ideas that would help to differentiate them in an increasingly crowded marketplace. I wanted to create an identity that was a reflectionof the owners energetic character. By drawing inspiration from his bold hair colour (ginger), I produced an identity which not only communicated the founders appearance, but also gave subtle hints of speed, acceleration and delivery, all of which are associated with the freight industry. Using a forward pointing arrow to form the hare,the logotype was given a clever added twist. All marketing material used simple eye catching photography with edgy supporting straplines. The company founders were looking for a unique company name, identity and marketing ideas which would set them apart from their competitors. Using the two founders names as inspiration. We created a clean, fun identity which pays homage to the company religious origins as well as a subtle nod to the founding owners partnership. A supporting strapline ‘Let Us Play…’ was also developed to run across all marketing materials. Additional marketing materials which followed the church theme were also created, such as a bible CD booklet. This souvenir gift contained a selection of tracks the DJ’s played at wedding receptions and would be handed to the newlyweds as a keep sake. A series of playful posters were also developed to promote the company at events and wedding fairs. These featured some of the 10 commandments and famous bible quotes, all be it with a cheeky twist.
