Fratelli
Situated in Newcastle Upon Tyne, Fratelli Restaurant is owned and run by two quirky entrepreneurial brothers-in law, offering Italian cuisine with a modern twist. With a contemporary interior, the restaurant targets affluent, design literate and sophisticated clientele. A brand identity was required to reflect the modernity of both the food and surroundings, moving away from the classic rustic feel commonly found in Italian restaurants.

Fratelli means “brothers” in English, I focused on the two ‘l’s’ to symbolise the partnership of the owners. Utilising the negative space between the two letters, we then created an area to introduce illustrations, tailoring the identity for each specific application such as the restaurant menu, bistro menu and cocktail list.
